MAN OF THE HOUR

Selman, R – 2006

Bloom 6” (15cm) x height 26” (66cm)

Mid-season/Semi-Evergreen/Tetraploid

Definitely different, this one has uniquely coloured blooms of a peachy-orange-mauve blend with a rosy-purple eye above an orange throat.  There are three colours in the ruffled edging starting with raspberry pink, rosy-purple and finishing with an outer band of gold.  The edge looks like a mirror image of the flower.  Great for the front of the border.  So pretty and very limited.

MARGO REED INDEED

Murphy, J.P – 2004

Bloom 7.5” (19cm) x height 28” (71cm)

Mid-Late/Semi-Evergreen/Diploid

*Unusual Form Cascade*

A light creamy pink on cool days and almost white on hot days.  The edge is very ruffled and whiter than the petals and the throat is chartreuse to green.  The scapes come up at different times ensuring a long bloom season.  At clump strength it has a multitude of buds and also has lots of proliferations.  A very good parent for pollen dabbers.

MEDIA FRENZY

Santa Lucia – 2003

Bloom 7.5” (19cm) x height 33” (84 cm)

Mid-season/Dormant/Tetraploid

*Unusual Form Crispate-Spatulate*

One of my long standing favourites.  It is a plum-rose blend with an apricot-gold throat.  As a clump it flowers right over the top of the foliage and produces masses of flowers for weeks on end.  It is a fantastic performer and a real must have for the mixed border.  Limited

Bloom 6” (15cm) x height 27” (69cm)

Mid-season/Semi-Evergreen/Tetraploid

Deep purple with small yellow-green throat.  In cooler weather in UK the edge looks ruffled but when it gets nice and hot the ruffles turn into white sharks teeth on the petals and the sepals.  Very unique and exciting.   Limited
